Melissa R. Theriault

Basic Bio:

I am a mother of four children between 6 to 22 years old. I am also the wife to the funniest person I know, Matt. Because I was a very wise teenager, I earned my B.EA. in theater from the Theater Conservatory of the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University. (I will never be done paying on those student loans). I am also a case manager for people on the Developmental Disability Waiver and work with the Wyoming Governor's Council on Developmental Disabilities to educate and advocate for people to maintain their self-determination to the greatest extent possible. I also run the Wyoming Resource Center for Self-Determination as part of my work with the Governor's Council. My primary job is as a lawyer with Woodhouse Roden Ames &Brennan, LLC. I am so fortunate to be Of Counsel with a firm that supports me, my crazy schedule, and my passion projects. Last year's major project was serving as co-chair of Christmas House for Cheyenne Women's Civic League. We borrowed former Governor Ger-inger's home and filled it with Christmas goodies that were sold to raise over $40,000 for our community.

What did you do before law school?

Before law school, I was a theater major in Chicago.

Why did you choose to become a lawyer?

I became a lawyer because it beats being a starving actress/waitress. I'm only half-kidding. This change in my career came on 9/11. I was attending school...
