American, Continental, and Northwest will sweeten your next Caribbean vacation. Earn up to 11,000 miles when you book a vacation package, or get a discount of 5,000 miles on your next award flight.

Up to double miles for Midwest travel. You can earn up to double frequent flier miles when you travel to or from the Midwest during the first half of 2004. Five airlines are offering bonus miles, on top of regular flight miles, so you can add to your mileage account with a domestic flight or two. These bonus mile offers are arranged by the major origin or destination cities: Chicago, Detroit, Minneapolis and several three Midwest cities.

AIR CANADA

With Air Canada's new YourStyle Rewards, you can pay for your dream getaway with Aeroplan miles. For travelers frustrated with their inability to redeem miles for flights, YourStyle Rewards could be a satisfying alternative.

Air Canada Aeroplan members can now go online and redeem miles earned with any Air Canada partners, including airlines, hotels, car rentals, and retail. To redeem miles, visit Aeroplan's website.

Members of AirTran's A-Plus Rewards program may now earn credit for Hertz rentals. Normal earning rate will be a half credit for qualifying rentals of up to four days, and a full credit for rentals of five or more days. As a launch promotion, members will earn double credits on qualifying Leisure weekend and weekly rentals through Mar. 31, 2004 (two-day minimum for Leisure Weekend Rate rentals, five-day minimum for Leisure Weekly Rate rentals). To earn credits, provide an A-Plus membership number at the time of reservation, rental or return.

ALAMO

Alamo is currently offering bonus mile deals with America West, American, and Southwest. You can earn up to double miles plus additional perks, such as discounted rates and free ski racks, with these special offers.

Alamo and National car rental brands owner Vanguard Car Rental USA has announced that it has enhanced National Car Rental's Emerald Club Program. While maintaining its standard fast rental procedures, the new club will offer renters a paperless transaction that lets them bypass the counter and choose their own car on the lot. Members will also be able to earn free rental days and, for higher-level members, guaranteed car upgrades. A new Web site, www.emeraldclub.com, has been created to help track and redeem rental credits and update member profiles.

ALASKA AIRLINES

Alaska Airlines is offering award discounts for travel this spring between the Bay Area and select Pacific Northwest cities. You can redeem an award ticket for only 13,000 Mileage Plan miles, a savings of 7,000 miles.

AMERICA WEST

To promote its aggressively discounted first-class fares, America West is offering FlightFund members silver-elite status after three first- class roundtrips and gold status after six roundtrips. Qualifying tickets must be purchased between March 4 and June 30, and travel must be completed by September 6. Registration is required. Through May 31 2004, FlightFund members will earn a 50-percent mileage bonus when borrowing from Nationwide Advantage Mortgage Company. That's 500 miles in addition to the standard 1,000 FlightFund miles per $10,000 in principal amount borrowed. Apply at by calling 1-888-906-4537.

America West has announced changes to mileage requirements for award tickets, as well as elite bonuses and other perks. While the airline touts its cheap awards, many people will find that award seats just got more expensive.

America West FlightFund members can now reserve award tickets online for flights within the continental U.S. Effective January 1, 2004, America West FlightFund elite members will receive fewer elite bonus miles. Under the new scheme, members receive 100% / 50% / 25% mileage bonuses for Platinum/Gold/Silver elites, respectively, versus the previous 125% / 100% / 50% bonus rate. AMERICAN AIRLINES

American is doubling its AAdvantage miles on flights from New York Kennedy to San Francisco and San Juan, Puerto Rico. The offer is good for San Juan from now through May 31, and for San Francisco between April 16 and May 31 2004. Travelers must register prior to travel at www.aa.com/offers and enter the promotion code for San Juan or San Francisco, or by calling the AAdvantage dial-in system at 800-882-8880.

Between April 4 and June 30 2004, AAdvantage members will earn bonus miles for roundtrip flights on AA's new service between Los Angeles and Tokyo. Earn 15,000 bonus miles for first or business class and 7,500 bonus miles for higher-priced economy fares, excluding fares beginning with G, O, Q, L, N, S. Register prior to travel using promotion code LATYO.

AAdvantage members will earn as many as 6,000 miles for stays at Starwood hotels (Westin, Sheraton, Four Points, St. Regis, Luxury Collection and W Hotels) in the United States and Canada through June 30. Only Sunday through Thursday arrivals are eligible. Earn 1,000 miles for the first stay, 2,000 miles for the second stay, and 3,000 miles plus two 50 percent-discount leisure stay certificates for the third stay. Registration is required. * 2) Fly 10,000 qualifying miles between Jan. 1 and Feb. 29

to earn double bonus miles on future qualifying flights through March 31, 2004.

* 3) Fly 10,000 qualifying miles between Jan. 1 and Mar. 31

to earn 5,000 bonus miles. (The 5,000-mile bonus may only be earned once.)
