In reference to the Ojo article, "Mothers March On" (Volume 51, no. 6), we would like to inform you that in 1986, the movement of the mothers divided in two: "Asociacion Madres cie Plaza de Mayo--Linea Fundadora" and "Asociacion Madres de Plaza de Mayo." The two thousand members that your article mentions refers to the sum of both groups. This divergence was motivated by a difference in methodologies regarding the actions of the mothers, once democracy was restored, as well as differences regarding the principles of nonviolence, which are of fundamental importance to the "Asociacion Madres de Plaza de Mayo--Linea Fundadora." This clarification has been made public in order to affirm our distinct identity.
