The White House announced that Charles E. McQueary would serve as the first under secretary for science and technology in the newly established Department of Homeland Security (DHS). McQueary recently retired as president of General Dynamics Advanced Technology Systems. Prior to his work at General Dynamics, he worked at AT&T/Lucent Technologies, serving several capacities, such as president and vice president, from 1987 to 1997.
