Former Campbell Soup Company CEO Joins Quest Diagnostics' Board.

Denise M. Morrison, the former CEO of Campbell Soup Company and a director at Visa and Metlife, has been appointed to Quest Diagnostics' board.

"In addition to her broad management experiences, Denise has a deep understanding of the consumer market and will bring a helpful new perspective as Quest pursues its strategy to be the most consumer-oriented diagnostic information services provider," Quest's chairman, CEO and president Steve Rusckowski said in a release.

Morrison, who served as president and CE0 of Campbell Soup Company since 2011, retired abruptly last year. Under her leadership, the company made moves to adjust to consumers changing habits toward more healthier foods, but "a bet on fresher foods under her leadership failed to revive sales," the Wail Street Journal reported.

The iconic soup company needed to change, and Morrison was seen as "a passionate advocate and leader over her 15 years with the company," said Les C. Vinney, Campbell chairman, after her departure.
