FORMER CALIFORNIA LAWMAKER DAN BOATWRIGHT, who served in the Legislature for 24 years, died in April at 82. He was elected to the Assembly in 1972, where he chaired the Ways and Means Committee, and moved to the Senate in 1980 and became chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee.
