An Antitrust Guide for Trade Associations
v
Foreword
The ABA Antitrust Section has developed
this Antitrust Guide for Trade Association Pro-
fessionals and Members in order to provide a
tool for antitrust compliance that may be used
by association professionals, managers, and
staff, as well as the counsel who advise associa-
tions and the firms and individuals who par-
ticipate in association activities. This Antitrust
Guide is designed to help association profession-
als and members identify the antitrust issues
that typical association activities may present,
and to offer general practical guidance for con-
ducting association activities. We hope this pub-
lication will become a major resource for
antitrust compliance programs for trade asso-
ciations and for their members.
The Antitrust Section gratefully recognizes
the contributions of the attorneys who conceived
and organized this project, drafted the manu-
script, and prepared it for publication: Stephen
W. Armstrong, Christopher J. MacAvoy, Timo-
thy J. Waters, Patricia M. Vaughan, Kathleen
Haley McGillis, Elise Kirban, and Neil Imus.
