Foreword

When I began practicing law in 1985, the statutory and case laws on automobile insurance were in a state of flux. I began my career in Sumter under the guidance of my father, the late George C. James, Thomas E. Player, Jr., and Henry B. Richardson, Jr. at the firm of Richardson, James, and Player. My father, Tommy, and I devoted much of our practice to defending automobile accident cases.
