Aurora BUGrip is a newcomer in the Icebug running line. It has much in common with its sibling Anima2 BUGrip, but there are some differences. Aurora is lighter and less protective than Anima2 and aims more at winter roads and well-paved trails than at running into the wild. An invisible--yet appreciated--feature is the hidden "weather shield" membrane laminated to the backside of the upper textile--it prevents snow, cold air, and slush from bothering the foot when conditions are rough. The injection molded midsole makes for a flexible shoe with excellent ground feeling. BUGrip is all about traction, enabling an efficient stride even on snow and ice. The 8mm drop and low weight promote high speed. In other words, Aurora is well-suited for driven runners.

BUGrip is the name of Icebug's grip technology for the most slippery conditions. A BUGrip sole is made of a special rubber compound and has 15-19 integrated steel studs. The design of the studs, together with the properties of the rubber compound, give these studs a dynamic function. The studs work independently from each other and are not completely fixed.
