The Reggae Girlz suffered their second successive defeat at the Women's World Cup on Friday, going down 5-0 to Italy and virtually eliminating themselves from reaching the round of 16.
The result leaves the Jamaican women, who are making their debut at the tournament, without a point after two games, and with a goal difference of -8, would require a miracle against Australia in their final game to advance from Group C.
With the win, the unbeaten Italians climbed to the top of the Group with six points, clinching a place in the quarterfinals in the process.
Both Australia and Brazil - who will play Italy in their final group match are on three points.
Cristiana Girelli led the Italians with goals in the 12th, 25th and 46th minutes, before substitute Aurora Galli grabbed a brace in the 71st and 81st minutes.
Despite the defeat, head coach of the Reggae Hue Menzies praised his side for their 'never say die' attitude.
