Peer Reviewed Alzheimer’s, Innovations in Care
and Support Award (DOD)
Scope: The Defense Department’s U.S. Army Medical
Research Acquisition Activity seeks applications for the
Peer Reviewed Alzheimer’s, Innovations in Care and
Support Award (InCASA) announcement to support
innovative and impactful research that improves the
quality of life and care for individuals, families and care
providers living with the common symptoms of traumatic
brain injury (TBI) and/or Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and
AD-related dementias (ADRD).
Deadline: Pre-applications, June 22, 2020; proposals,
July 21, 2020.
Funds: Approximately $720,000 to fund approximately
two InCASA Funding Level I applications and
approximately $2.4 million to fund approximately three
InCASA Funding Level II applications.
Eligibility: Unrestricted.
Areas: DOD said applicants to the FY2020 Peer
Reviewed Alzheimer’s Research Program InCASA must
address and select one of the overarching challenges:
paucity of clinical studies—the lack of clinical studies
to examine the interrelationship between TBI and
subsequent AD/ADRD for the military, veteran and
civilian communities; quality of life—the need for
technologies, assessments, interventions or devices to
benet individuals living with the common symptoms of
TBI and AD/ADRD; and family and care support—the
need for technologies, assessments, interventions

New Mexico Conservation Funding (USDA)
Scope: The Agriculture Department’s Natural Resources
Conservation Service seeks applications for the New
Mexico Conservation Funding announcement to
partner with and support the efforts of natural resource
conservation partners, and to promote public awareness
and implementation of conservation activities.
Deadline: July 15, 2020.
Funds: $100,000 for up to ve awards ranging from
$10,000 to $20,000.
Eligibility: Nonprot organizations and state, local and
Native American tribal governments.
Areas: USDA said proposals must be for projects based
in New Mexico and focus on conservation. Activities
include conservation outreach workshops; technical
workshops and/or eld days on native plant community
adoption, and/or pollinator habitat; and organic and
specialty crop workshops.

McGovern-Dole International Food for Education
and Child Nutrition Program (USDA)
Scope: The Agriculture Department’s Foreign
Agricultural Service (FAS) seeks applications for the
McGovern-Dole International Food for Education and
Child Nutrition Program for FY2020.
Deadline: July 14, 2020.
Funds: $218 million total for up to 11 awards ranging
from $10 million to $25 million.
Eligibility: Colleges and universities; nonprot
organizations; and state, local and Native American
tribal governments.
Areas: USDA said key objectives are to carry out:
preschool and primary school food for education
programs in foreign countries to improve food security,
reduce the incidence of hunger and improve literacy
and primary education, particularly with respect to girls;
and maternal, infant and child nutrition programs for
pregnant women, nursing mothers, infants and children
who are 5 years old or younger.
