FOCUSING ON THE HUMAN SIDE OF EVENTS.

AuthorZack, Ian

Teachers have told us they look to Upfront to show students the human side of complex issues. So we've been working extra hard to bring you these kinds of stories. In this issue, we have an in-depth profile of a teenage Honduran migrant who came illegally to the U.S. on her own and has applied for asylum. This article includes two political cartoons with opposing viewpoints on migration that reflect some of the political discourse your students have been hearing on the topic. We hope to foster a respectful, thoughtful discussion in your classroom.
