The rule-by-rule analysis succinctly presents the history of each rule. This is followed by a comparison to a federal rule of civil procedure. As the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure were patterned after the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, this meaningful discussion not only adds understanding, it provides access to federal cases and commentaries which are persuasive in interpreting their counterparts in the Florida rules. Citations, where appropriate, also include references to Florida's three federal district courts' local rules.
