Flint Hills engineer honored.

Wendy Wildenberg, a chemical engineer and technical leader at Flint Hills Resources in Rosemount, is a recipient of the 2020 STEP Ahead Awards from the Washington, D.C.-based Manufacturing Institute.

The awards recognize women in manufacturing who are "making a difference through advocacy, mentorship, engagement, promotion and leadership," according to a press release from Flint Hills Resources.

During the past 25 years, Wildenberg has led "significant projects" that help the Pine Bend refinery "increase production of the fuels people need while lowering emissions," Flint Hills said.

Geoff Glasrud, vice president and manufacturing manager for the Flint Hills Resources Pine Bend refinery, said Wildenberg is "an outstanding talent and technical expert who shares her knowledge to improve our team, guide her peers and inspire future engineers."

Wildenberg has mentored hundreds of engineers, operators and maintenance leads, the company said.
