Five defense programs recognized for performance.

At NDIA's recent Systems Engineering Conference in San Diego, Calif., five Defense Department programs were recognized for the quality of their overall performance and demonstrated use of systems engineering.

The organizations received the "Top 5 Programs Award," which is sponsored jointly by the systems and software engineering directorate of the office of the undersecretary of defense and NDIA's Systems Engineering Division. The awards recognized not only the Defense Department entities, but also prime contractors. They included:

U.S. Army Centaur Program. Lt. Col. James J. Chapman, service product manager, fire support command and control. Raytheon, prime contractor. Company's project manager, Doug Johnson.

Integrated Exploitation Capability, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency. James Sapcoe, NGA program manager. Lockheed Martin Integrated Systems and Solutions, prime contractor. Company's project manager, Doreen...
