Fischer to lead TKDA's Municipal Division.

Doug Fischer has joined St. Paul-based TKDA as vice president of the firm's Municipal Division.

Fischer, a longtime county engineer for Anoka County, takes over the division leadership from Dennis Postler, who is transitioning to a new position for TKDA in California, according to a press release.

Fischer became Anoka County's chief engineer in 2002. In that role, he oversaw more than $500 million worth of projects, including the new $42 million highway interchange at Armstrong Boulevard and Highway 10.

In 2013, he took on an additional role: manager of the county's Transportation Division. In that capacity, he was responsible for the Highway Department, Transit Unit, Fleet Services, the County Surveyor's Office and the Geographical Information Services Unit, TKDA said.
