PositionGet Smart About Credit' program

THE BANKER-DRIVEN FINANCIAL EDUCATION PROGRAM AND CONTEST: "Lights, Camera, Save!" will run from Oct. 1 through Nov. 1 this year, the ABA Education Foundation has announced. In addition, Oct. 20 has been designated as "Get Smart about Credit Day"

"The Lights, Camera, Save!" video contest, an offshoot of the ABA Education Foundation's "Teach Children to Save" program, is a competition that encourages young people to use video to communicate the value of saving and inspire others to become lifelong savers. Banks will host the local level of the competition and each will select a winner to represent the bank and compete on the national level for a $3,000, $1,500 or $500 US. savings bond. Online banker registration is currently open. (Go to www.youtube.com/user/Teach-ChildrenToSave to view last year's winning video.)

"The foundation's fall programs give bankers the framework to impact students in a way that's meaningful, but also fun and easy," explains Laura Fisher, executive director of the ABA Education Foundation." 'Our Lights, Camera, Save!' contest meets students on their level through video, while our credit program gives them a snapshot of adult responsibilities in managing credit."
