Open Systems Inc. has added Active Financial Statements, "a significant new feature," to TRAVERSE version 10. This feature allows the user to produce interactive statements that can be used to drill down to the underlying data.

TRAVERSE Active Financial Statements work with the statements included in the general ledger module and with any statements a user creates independently. Once the command is executed, the statement appears in a window. Any values that a user can drill down through appear in blue.

"This functionality allows our users to identify and correct problems on the fly before printing statements," says TRAVERSE Development Manager Steve Beckey. "It is also very useful for data analysis because it lets users see the components of their statement totals. The user doesn't need to recreate financial statements in order to utilize this functionality."
