High-tech balloons flying above air traffic elevations but beneath satellites will soon be used to combat the almost epidemic levels of diabetes among the Navajo people. The Navajo Nation Special Diabetes Project will work with Space Data Corporation and the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Distance Learning and Telemedicine Grant program to provide glucose monitors to isolated people who often live in areas without access to telephones.
