ON BEHALF OF THE Indiana Historical Society, I wish to congratulate Indiana Business for serving the business community so well for the past 50 years. The Indiana Historical Society is proud to play a part with the Indiana Business magazine in honoring the 50 Great Indiana Businesses. Throughout our history these businesses have provided a solid economic base for the state to grow and prosper.

Documenting and sharing business and corporate history is also core to the mission of the Indiana Historical Society, a private not-for-profit institution chartered by the state of Indiana in 1830. The Indiana Historical Society actively collects, preserves and provides public access to the largest collection of materials relating to Indiana and the Old Northwest Territory Our collections include 1.4 million historical photographs and 500,000 archival collections comprised of business and corporate records, maps, family and personal papers, documents and newspapers.

The IHS also encourages people and organizations in the stewardship of archival materials by offering advice, consultation, workshops and classes on how to care for business or personal historical materials in your possession. Through these and many other services...
