For more than two weeks, citizens in Ferguson, Missouri, took to the streets to protest the August 9 shooting of Michael Brown, an unarmed African American teenager, by police officer Darren Wilson. Brown was shot at least six times, and several witnesses reported that Brown had his hands in the air when the final shot was fired. The police quickly cordoned off the area, but left Brown's body on display for hours after the shooting.
