FEI private Company members go face to face with congress.

On March 8 and 9, the Committee on Private Company Policy (CPC-P) met in Washington, D.C., as part of FEI's 6th Annual Private Company Fly-in. This year, 12 private company chief financial officers visited with 34 congressional offices over the two days.

Participants met with leaders on both sides of the aisle of the House Ways and Means Committee, Senate Finance Committee, Senate Budget Committee and senior staff of the Joint Committee on Taxation.

The fly-in provided the opportunity for FEI members to meet face-to-face with many legislators such as Rep. Peter Roskam (R-lll.), Rep. Ron Kind (D-Wis.), Rep. Glenn Thompson (R-Pa.) and Rep. Rodney Frel-inghuysen (R-N.J.).

During the fly-in, senior executives from private companies were able to discuss important tax policy and government regulation issues. In recent weeks and months, a greater focus has been put on corporate tax reform and a greater emphasis on evermore burdensome government regulations.

The fly-in participants stressed the need for comprehensive tax reform, ways to make U.S. private companies more competitive and regulatory actions that could harm economic growth.
