FEI launches Nashville Chapter.

Financial Executives International chartered a new chapter in Knoxville, Tenn., this summer, bringing the total number of the association's chapters to 85--74 in the United States and 11 in Canada.

"We are excited for the formation of a new chapter that enables FEI to expand its presence into the great city of Knoxville and meet the specific needs of local professionals," said Marie Hollein, FEI president and CEO, who was present at the chapter's launch, on July 14, at the Peerless Restaurant.

"Knoxville has a growing business community, and this chapter will offer professionals networking opportunities, CPE (continuing professional education) sessions, member career counseling and many other tools that are important to their companies," she added.

Chris Chandler, chief financial officer for Radio Systems, elected to serve as the new chapter's President, said: "We encourage all local CFOs, controllers, treasurers and VPs of Finance to attend our upcoming events."

In addition to FEI's existing chapters in Chattanooga, Memphis and Nashville, he added, "the Knoxville chapter enables us to engage even more closely with Tennessee members, offering tremendous opportunities and easy access to top-notch resources."

Other members serving on the Knoxville Chapter's 2009-10 board of directors include seasoned financial executives across various sectors, including:

* Vice President of Programs: Janet Parkey, CFO, Optimal 4 Software;

* Vice President of Sponsorship: Debbie Carper, CFO, Medic Regional Blood Center;

* Secretary: Luis Reyes, CFO, Vifan USA and Vifan Canada Inc.;

* Treasurer: Frank Southall, vice President and controller, Ruby Tuesday;

* Co-vice President of Membership: James Clayton, CFO, Scripps Networks;

* Co-vice President of Membership: Andre Juneau, controller, Bush Brothers & Co.

Brad O'Shoney, FEI's Southern Area Director, from the Nashville Chapter, played a crucial part in getting the Knoxville Chapter chartered.

Others who provided their time and talents to launch the new FEI chapter include: Mark Myers (Nashville); Tad Feeney and Ken Patton (Memphis); Steve Powell (Chattanooga); Jill Green and Christine Bell, from LBMC of Knoxville; and Dave Norton, from RHI.
