FEI Colorado chapter celebrates 50 years!

In October 1957, J. R. Spangler, treasurer of The Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph Company, sent a letter to the Controllers Institute of America requesting recognition of the "Rocky Mountain Control," with 29 charter members. It was the beginning of the Colorado Chapter of Financial Executives International (FEI), which now numbers 225 members. To mark the occasion, the Colorado chapter celebrated its special 50th anniversary at an October dinner. More than 100 members and guests were in attendance, including many past chapter presidents; its special guest speaker was FEI CEO and President Michael Cangemi.

The evening began with a reception for Cangemi, continued with a synopsis of the history and growth of FEI, both nationally and in Colorado, and ended with Cangemi's talk about his role guiding FEI as a whole on the many important issues the organization pursues on behalf of the thousands of financial executives it represents.
