Fedex invests in Upstate sorting facility.

Ecommerce giant FedEx will invest $45 million in an additional Anderson County facility expected to create 12 jobs.

The 251,000-square-foot, built-to-suit new facility, located at the corner of Highway 81 and Evergreen Road, will help the company increase regional sortation capacity and improve distribution, according to a news release. FedEx is investing more than $10 million in state-of-the-art material handling equipment.

"This is yet further evidence of the continuing growth of Anderson County," Councilman Brett Sanders said in a news release. "We know that these numbers will continue to grow as our citizens are productive and have a strong work ethic."
