Far from his land, at the end of a long death rattle, Naul Ojeda is gone. Better said, he left us. It will be impossible to get away from his most visceral presence, the smokey tones of his conversation, his stories of adventure and mischief, his sense of humor and friendship, his unflinching solidarity in the face of fire. And his talent. From Naul's woodcuts, one can say: I believe them. I believe them when they speak to me, each time that I see them and see them again. What they continue to tell me is: we were asleep in the wood, like the sun sleeps at night, and Naul's hand looked for us, touched us, and awakened us.
