The DWC Medical Unit is bringing the workers' compensation industry instant gratification!

As of October 1, 2015, the Medical Unit is using a new online initial Panel QME request process for represented cases only (for all dates of injury January 1, 2005, and after) in an effort to streamline the process and schedule exams more quickly. The Medical Unit will not accept or process paper initial requests postmarked after September 3, 2015.

In order for a party (applicant attorney, defense attorney, or claims administrator) to use the system, the party must have and insert its Uniform Assigned Name.

If a PQME request is being submitted under Labor Code section 4060, the "Dispute Type" will automatically be prompted to "Compensability Dispute." The requesting party is not required to object to a medical report prior to requesting a...
