I read "Poor Sports," (Amy Sullivan, June) and I agree that the Washington Wizards could use more support. As a fan that goes to nearly 20 games a season, it would be great to see more fans in the Verizon Center create a louder, more partisan environment. But when you make a generalization about "sports fans" in D.C. and base your conclusion on turnout for Wizards games, you have conveniently left out what is most important to nearly all Washingtonians--our beloved Redskins.

I have witnessed many "transplants" come to D.C. and embrace the Redskins, even amidst their dismal past decade. Their home, also the largest stadium in the NFL, is sold out for years to come, and the support/coverage/discussion of the team never wanes.

Keep in mind, while you were in Michigan enjoying the fruits of the Pistons' success in the eighties, native Washingtonians were celebrating our Super Bowl victories in the streets of Georgetown. What is unique about...
