You've come a long way, baby ... kind of. The Institute for Women's Policy Research has recently reported on the political participation of women across the states, and the results are mixed. Washington state received the highest score for women's overall level of political participation, which includes voter registration, voter turnout, elected officials and institutional resources (such as commissions for women and women's caucuses).
