Fairbanks lands new frontier flights.

A federal grant helped Fairbanks add new summer flights between Denver and Fairbanks by Frontier Airlines. Denver-based Frontier was due to fly the nonstop flights four times a week from mid-May through Sept. 12. Airport officials aim to expand the flights from seasonal operations to year-round flights.

The grant included $500,000 from the federal government and $100,000 from the Fairbanks Convention and Visitors Bureau, which served as the community partner.
