On November 30, a few hundred farmworkers and their supporters marched to Burger King corporate headquarters in Miami, Florida. The protest, organized by the Coalition of Immokalee Workers (CIW), aimed to put pressure on Burger King to pay a penny more per pound for tomatoes. The increase would go directly to the farmworkers, and not to tomato suppliers who contract with the fast food giant.
