Executives gloomy on leadership pipeline.

Financial executives aren't especially optimistic about the capabilities they see in their own departments, according to a Deloitte Consulting survey of finance executives.

Eight percent of the North American finance executives responding to the survey described the supply of finance talent as "inadequate" and 39 percent said it was "limited." Global finance executives were even more pessimistic: 8.2 percent described the supply as inadequate and 50.5 percent said it was limited.

In keeping with those findings, 8 percent of the North American executives said their finance organizations were unable to meet their demand for finance professionals; almost a third (30 percent) said they were barely able to meet the demand.
