It is with great pleasure that our Section presents to your this issue of the Business Law News. This issue represents a special achievement by focusing on one of the hottest areas in business law today: health care.

An estimate from the Office of the Actuary at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services shows health care spending in 2014 at over three trillion dollars (yes, that is "trillion," with a "t"). With the introduction of the Affordable Care Act, the digitization of health information, and the differentiation of health care providers, health care law will be increasingly dynamic and its impacts significant. As a result, practitioners who may not have previously had contact with health related legal issues will find themselves requiring some facility with the health care legal regime.

This issue represents many of the critical topics facing the field. The articles range from, among others, a basic introduction to the field and practical advice on diligence in health care transaction to the cutting edge use of health information.
