Embracing Change in 2021 and Beyond

Although the past year has been fraught with challenges, it has always been a pleasure meeting with BLS members. This dynamic group of professionals keeps us moving ahead of the curve through their hard work and vision, communicated personably and often delivered with a healthy dose of humor. Certainly, work with the BLS Publications Committee and the Business Law News exemplify this process in keeping members updated.

It is not a coincidence that BLS publications, initiatives, and programs address the major issues of the day; with the constant vigilance of our community, BLS provides developing perspectives on nascent issues. A few of these are described here, but the list is not exhaustive, so, to learn more, please contact the BLS standing committee leadership.

Corona-virus related responses from courts and government agencies were relayed directly to BLS by liaisons to the judiciary from state agencies. In addition, standing committees developed practice updates for members through eBulletins and video programming. These updates were shared with BLS members, the California Lawyers Association (CLA)
