Salt Lake City -- At the turn of every year, millions of people make the resolution to get in shape. Usually that resolution ends up meaning that scores of people show up at their local gym, work out hard for a month or two, and then throw in the towel until the next New Year's Day.

Blake S. Robinson, owner and founder of SLC-based EVOLVE FITNESS, wants to end that cycle. Robinson founded Evolve in 2011 as an "outlier" within the fitness industry. Robinson's method is what he calls "bespoke fitness," meaning that Evolve has a limited membership, and each member receives total individualization of their fitness regimen: goal setting, nutritional information, unlimited training sessions and classes, and personal accountability.

"Unlike the numerous gyms that are out there, we're not about having the most people. We request that our members have 85 percent attendance throughout the month," said Robinson. "We work with them with goal setting, with accountability, and making sure that goals are achieved, so that people can see results."

The classes at Evolve are small--an eight-person maximum, said Robinson, which allows trainers to tailor the session to the individual members, making sure they are not only safe but exercising at their highest potential.

"The largest class I've done is 300 people, and because of the quantity, you have to dumb down the exercises and movements to keep everyone safe and focused and going," he said.
