5-16 Aleut Basket Weaving

Held at the Alaska Native Heritage Center as part of the ExxonMobil Master Artist Workshop Series. Class size is 10 participants, and will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Cost is $150. The fee includes all supplies and instruction. Call Jean Sam at 330-8093 to register.

8-9 Business Development Program

This Small l3usiness Administration-sponsored workshop discusses how to start a business and how to develop a business plan. The workshop runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day, and is held at 430 West Seventh Ave. Call 274-7232.

13 Dept. of Environmental Conservation Workshop

Workshop on development of spill regulations for nontanker vessels and railroads. Held in the Legislative Information Office, 716 West Fourth Ave. The workshop is open to the public. Those outside Anchorage may go to the Juneau Legislative Information Office or participate via teleconference by calling 463-5073 in Juneau or (888) 263-1555 in all other areas within and outside Alaska.

14 Small-Bus. Employer Payroll Tax Seminar

21-24 Carrs/Safeway Great Alaska Shootout

Alaska's greatest weekend of basketball, the Shootout features some of America's best athletes. Teams from Gonzaga, Indiana, Oregon State and others are scheduled to appear. Held in Anchorage's Sullivan Arena Call 786-1293.
