1 Acquaintance and Date Rape Workshop

This free workshop is presented by STAR, Standing Together Against Rape. Workshop is set for 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and held at the University of Alaska Anchorage Business Education Building, room 112. Participants must register no later than one day before the workshop, by calling Heidi King at 786-4500 or in person at the Advising and Counseling Center, BEB 115.

1-2 Information Technology and Business Expo

4.6 NEA-Alaska Fall Event Conference

Workshops to cover political organizing for the 2002 election, basic bargaining, basic rights and public relations. 4-6 Make it Alaska Festival

Featuring "Made In Alaska" crafts by Native artists and other Alaskans. At the Sullivan Arena on Friday from noon to 9 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Call 279-0618.

7-9 Sacred Circle Training

Featuring a workshop entitled "Advocacy for Native Women Who Have Been Raped." One of every three Native women has been raped. This workshop explores this issue from a historical, cultural and legal perspective. Will review jurisdictional issues, effective response, crisis intervention, advocacy, rape exams, and discuss how to establish sexual assault teams in urban and rural areas. Registration fee is $150. 12 Opening Night, Anchorage Symphony Orchestra
