Escape Lounge opens at GSP.

Greenville-Spartanburg International Airporthas a new place for travelers to grab a little peace and quiet on a hectic day.

The Escape Lounge had a soft opening recently and will celebrate the new space with an open house on Oct. 25.

GSP is the fifth U.S. airport to have a common use lounge designed byMAG USA. The company invested more than $1 million in the 2,500-square-foot lounge.

"We're excited to bring this kind of atmosphere to GSP," said lounge manager Justin Kelly. "It's been a good project working with everyone to bring it together and the reception has been very positive."

Escape Lounge includes hot and cold food and beverage choices, seating, high-speed wi-fi and up-to-the-second flight information. Each Escape Lounge's food offerings were developed by a local chef using locally-sourced ingredients wherever possible, according to a news release.

A wall behind the host desk was created from oaks taken down on the airport property, Kelly said.
