Following the publication of this article in 2015 (No. 36, pp. 292–312), issues were identified regarding our
confirmatory factor analysis that require correction and/or clarification. The degrees of freedom reported on page
302 were based on 18 indicators instead of the 20 indicators described in the measures section. We dropped two
items from the original seven-item organizational embeddedness scale (Crossley, Bennett, Jex, & Burnfield,
2007) due to poor factor loadings but did not report this in the published manuscript. The items “It would be difficult
for me to leave this organization (.19 factor loading) and “I’m too caught up in this organization to leave (.28 factor
loading) were dropped. All statistical analyses were based on the 5-item embeddedness scale; nothing changes with
respect to the results or conclusions. The discrepancy has no impact on the results or conclusions.
