The coming months may send a different signal, but through the summer, consulting firms specializing in integration of business solutions have been doing just fine. A recent survey by the Parson Group, a Chicago-based consultant, finds that half of the executives it polled said their companies planned to maintain or boost spending on specialized systems consulting.

The survey of mid-to senior-level executives at 400 mid-sized to large companies produced these findings:
