For people who have decided to study environmental science, policy, or education, it can be tricky to track down the appropriate programs. Although many schools are developing interdisciplinary programs in these fields, they are often scattered through unlikely university departments.

Fortunately, there are several reference guides available to help search for the right program:

* The Conservation Directory is published annually by the National Wildlife Federation. * Guide to Programs of Geography in the United States and Canada 1992-1993 is published by the Association of American Geographers. It lists both undergraduate and graduate programs in geography, many of which include studies in ecology, agricultural history, demography, and other interdisciplinary fields.
