What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about owning a small business? Owning a small business is a marathon and not a sprint. Be patient be smart and make well informed decisions with the long term in mind.

What is the Detroit Region's hidden gem? The Detroit Historical Museum Dedicated to telling our rich and storied history, the museum gives us a look into our past and serves as a guide for our future.

How did you get involved in the restaurant business?

My second day out of high school, I got a job at a fruit market deli in Madison Heights. I worked there for four months and then took a job at a kosher style delicatessen/Chinese restaurant in West Bloomfield called Shanghai Shapiro.

What's your advice to a new small business trying to make it in this economy? Surround yourself with knowledgeable, honest and reliable ream members that you believe in and who believe in you It is your people that have the greatest impact on the success of your small business.
