ENLIST: a way for bank employees to volunteer.

PositionABAMN Financial Marketing Awards: Community Service; Runner-Up; Asset Size of $1 Billion to $5 Million - Monroe Bank and Trust - Brief article

Institution: Monroe Bank & Trust, Monroe, Mich.

To assist its employees to find community volunteer activities, the bank created a program called ENLIST (Employees Now Linked In Service Together).

Employees participate in activities of their choice based on weekly updates on the ENLIST project calendar. Selected at random, volunteer employees report to their assigned projects and record their donated hours in an automated system that tracks totals. Employees who accumulate 25 project hours are rewarded with their choice of a vacation day or a $50 savings bond. Awards are given for each 25-hour increment.

As a result of the program, 82 percent of the bank's 400 plus employees take part annually in activities sponsored by dozens of community service organizations across Southeast Michigan.
