It's not often that college students get the opportunity to compare Beatles lyrics to classic English poetry, but in the class, "The Beatles and the English Poetic Tradition," students do just that.

Because the class is unique, a FOX affiliate in Charlotte opted to air a feature story about the course, taught by Dr. Matthew Schneider, department chair and professor of English.

Schneider's class is one of dozens of first-year seminars offered to students, and the courses seem to be generating a lot of buzz across the region.
