Engineering firm leases downtown Columbia office space.

Highfill Infrastructure Engineering P.C. has leased a 1,528-square-foot office suite at the Meridian Building in downtown Columbia's central business district.

Colliers International's Philip Vann represented the tenant in the transaction. Tommy Johnson represented HPT Sunbelt Portfolio LLC, the landlord of the office tower located at 1320 Main St.

Highfill Infrastructure is an engineering consulting firm specializing in community and water infrastructure engineering. Its former location was sold, leaving the company a short time to find a new home, according to a news release from Colliers.

"We were able to assist the tenant in negotiating a lease in a short time frame to allow business continuation," Vann said in the release. "The lease was executed after state and local governments had suggested work-from-home regulations, but Colliers was able to keep the lease process flowing for our clients."

The Meridian Building is a 336,082-square-foot, Class A office building.
