This encyclopedia contains 460 articles, twenty-five hundred pages, in five volumes. it reexamines and expands upon all the information contained in the first edition, but also touches on many new topics. The section on euthanasia has been enlarged. New entries include AIDS, the ethics of fetal research and genetic engineering, and sociopolitical issues such as interpersonal abuse, sexism, and the death penalty.
