STARTING WHEN I WAS 15 YEARS OLD, I had a stalker who attempted to kill me several times before I turned 20. I survived, he was (thankfully) put in prison, and I went on to heal from post-traumatic stress, depression, and anxiety.

For a good portion of my 20s, those events felt like a big part of my story. But now, at age 37,1 rarely think about it anymore. I went on to lead a happy, full life. It doesn't even fit with my daily experience that I once had such a traumatic adolescence.
