Basic Effects of Avoidance
An effective avoidance largely brings the parties’ contractual relationship
to a close. This same outcome results from avoidance either by buyer (dis‑
cussed above in Chapter 7) or by seller (discussed below in Chapter 10). It
is addressed here immediately following buyer’s remedies, as a buyer will
more often seek to avoid the contract than will a seller.
