Kannapolis is located within 45 miles of 15 primary and secondary educational facilities, such as Rowan Cabarrus Community College, with one branch located in Kannapolis, and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, home to more than 19,000 undergraduate and graduate students. These resources provide additional training, further education and research facilities available for all businesses and their employees.

RCCC offers customized training and development programs for specialty and occupational-skills training to individuals, agencies, businesses and industries in Cabarrus and Rowan counties. RCCC, in cooperation with the state Community College System, designs and administers special training programs for industries that create new employment opportunities for the area. This specialized training program helps build a knowledgeable work force for companies that now call North Carolina home and ultimately contributes to the multiple rankings that list North Carolina's business climate as one of the best in the nation.
