Editorial note
The Editorial Board at World Food Policy (WFP) would like to thank our readers for their sup-
port and to the authors for their ongoing passion for knowledge on food (in)security. We aim to
make sure that your hard work and dedication never go unnoticed.
It is my honor to present Volume 10, Issue 2 of WFP, our second issue of the year. The cur-
rent issue is composed of four research articles. First, we would like to introduce Acceptability
and prospects in integrating sweet potato into dietary habits: Insights from Eritrea(Kidane &
Sibhatu, 2024). This article uses sensory analyses of 13 dishes and 55 panelists to examine the
acceptability of sweet potato dish preferences in Eritrea. Their findings find a promising poten-
tial for the incorporation of sweet potatoes in the Eritrean diet.
Second, we present Can farmer organization membership improve household food security
and nutrition? Evidence from Northern Ghana. In this research article, Addai, Ng
ombe, and
Temoso (2024) estimate the impact of farmer organizations in food production and nutrition
among rural rice farmers employing an endogenous switching regression model. Their findings
suggest that participation in farmer organizations increases household dietary diversity and
reduces food insecurity.
Additionally, we present Estimation of prevalence of Composite index of Anthropometric
Failure (CIAF)based undernutrition among under-six children of India: A systematic and
meta-analytical review(Tandan and Yadav, 2024). Their article seeks to understand the
decade-long changes in undernutrition status following the implementation of the National
Food Security Act (NFSA) in 2013 by using the Composite Index of Anthropometric Failure to
estimate the pooled prevalence of undernutrition and to discern the nature of variation. Their
findings suggest that malnutrition remains a significant public health challenge in India, partic-
ularly in Indias central and southern regions.
Finally, we present Battling for Food Security in Africa: Is Climate Finance the missing
Bulletby Arsene Mouongue (2024). This article explores whether climate finance programs
can reduce food insecurity across 37 African countries. Using secondary data and employing
the system generalized method, their findings demonstrate that climate finance plays a signifi-
cant role in reducing food insecurity in Africa. Furthermore, their results also confirm the indi-
rect pathways through which climate finance contributes to improved food security outcomes
in the region.
As we have done since I became the new Editor-in-Chief of WFP, together with the Edito-
rial Board, we have sought to structure and lay the groundwork for further debate on the criti-
cal issues of food (in)security. Thank you for your interest and your contributions as we
continue to build this journal.
